How to Use It
- Choose the Quantity, such as Length or Temperature.

How It Works
Most conversions are a single multiplication. Every unit has a size relative to a base unit (meters for length, kilograms for weight), so converting means going through that base:
Temperature is the exception, because its scales start at different zeros. The calculator converts through Celsius:

Tips and Common Mistakes
- Squared and cubed units scale faster. 1 m = 100 cm, but 1 m² = 10,000 cm² and 1 m³ = 1,000,000 cm³.
- Don’t multiply temperatures. 20 °C is not twice as hot as 10 °C; use the formulas above.
- Check which ton or gallon. A US gallon is about 3.785 L; a metric ton is 1,000 kg, a US ton 2,000 lb.
- Write units in your work. Letting units cancel, like ft × m/ft = m, catches an upside-down factor.
- Mind the digital units. Here 1 KiB is 1,024 bytes; drive labels use 1 KB = 1,000 bytes.
